No complaints from Johnson
Northampton boss Gary Johnson felt his side were lacking at both ends of the pitch in their 2-1 loss against Bristol Rovers.
The Cobblers had won their last two games on the road, including a Carling Cup win at Championship side Ipswich, but they left empty-handed from their trip to the West Country as they were punished by the Pirates.
"We were really poor in the first half. Rovers looked strong and we didn't match them," said the former Bristol City manager.
"In the second half I changed things around and when we equalised I thought we might go on to win. But we missed a good chance at one end and then lost a man we should have been marking, which resulted in the winning goal at the other end.
"That is disappointing because we have been better than that defensively.
"This is going to be a very competitive league with a lot of sides fancying that they can do well and it's going to come down to taking your chances."
