Circuit Training for Weight Loss

Exercising is an important factor in weight loss. For a healthy weight loss, exercising is very important. There are many fat burning exercises which can help you lose weight. Now, you must be wondering, what is circuit training and what it has to do with fat burning! The answer for your question is that circuit training is nothing but performing exercises one after the other, with rapid movements and again repeat the same exercises for the second set, if required. There are many circuit training benefits, of which, weight loss is the major one. Let us discuss in detail about circuit training for weight loss.

Circuit Training Programs for Weight Loss
Circuit training is called so, because in this type of workout, you have to work upon different muscle groups one after another. In addition, circuit training exercises are performed one after the other and the time period between two exercises is very short. This helps to keep the heart rate elevated for a long time period of time. Thus, resulting in weight loss. Circuit training can be a combination of aerobics exercises and strength training. For planning a weight loss program using circuit training, you can club different aerobics exercises, stretching exercises and techniques and weight training exercises together and do them one after the other. You can choose a total of five to six exercises for a single circuit training. While planning circuit training workouts for weight loss, you can add exercises which are helpful in reducing the belly fat or the extra fat in the core area of the body. The core area of the body includes the thighs, stomach, buttocks and hands. After the completion of five to six exercises one after the other, it is said that you have completed one circuit. Then start with the second circuit of the same exercises, after a few minutes. Before starting with these exercises, you have to do some warm up exercises and then start off with the rapid circuit training. You can club these circuit training exercises along with cardiovascular exercises. Following are some of the high intensity exercises, which you can club in the circuit training exercises.

Seated row
Barbell curls
squats
Leg raises
Seated calf extensions

Circuit Training for Weight Loss
Here is a sample circuit, which you can refer to and you can also plan your own circuit training for weight loss.
Start with a good warm up session, with a light jog or marching. Even some stretching can be included in your circuit training session.
Then using a jump rope, start jumping with both your legs, keep on jumping for 60 seconds.
With the help of resistance bands, perform squats. Place both the legs on the resistance band and pull the band to your shoulders. Repeat this for around one minutes or so.
Kickbacks with resistance bands is another exercise. In this exercise, you have to place your hands and feet on the ground. Place the resistance band around the left leg and hold the ends of the band in the left hand. Now perform kickbacks in the backward direction and again bend in the forward direction by bending your knees. Remember not to touch your legs to the ground. Do this for 30 seconds.
Brisk walking at a fast pace for around 30 to 60 seconds, is the next exercise in the circuit training for weight loss.
Triceps curls with the help of resistance band can be done as the next exercise. Place the resistance band below your legs and hold the ends of the resistance band with the help of your hands. Now pull the resistance band with your hand and perform the triceps curls.
Again jump using the jump rope for around 60 seconds.
Perform push ups with resistance bands by holding the resistance band with the help of your toes and preform push ups for one minute.
Then run for one whole minute at a very fast pace.
Lastly, cool down and perform some stretching exercises.

The above sample program completes one circuit. You can vary the exercises as per your needs and your weight loss schedule. You must not wait between two exercises and immediately start with the next exercise.
